Hi Guys,

RE: Australia vs Singapore

DOH!! Unlucky against Singapore; it sounded as though we weren’t as hungry as the Singaporeans. From looking at the stats, there were just too many penalties given to Singapore; it may be a physical game but we all know it’s not easy when you’re out there. But six penalties?!! Well done for bringing the margin back to 5-6; great effort. It shows we still have that fighting spirit!!

RE: Australia vs Netherlands

This was always going to be a tough game. You guys have certainly performed very well till the end of the 2nd period. 3rd period? Let’s forget about 3rd period.

Tomorrow, it’s Austria. Pasta up, stretch well and focus on your job. It’s definitely going to be another tough game. Remember, defense comes first! Play smart, be strong and do your very BEST!! COME ON AUSTRALIA!!! FIRE UP!!!!!

Thanks for all the suport guys, it really means a lot!

The posts have summed up our games.

We didn\'t have enough fire in our belly against singapore.  We started well and i scored an opportunistic goal mid way through the 1st period.  For the 1st 2 periods we let a goal in almost straight after scoring.  It gave the singaporeans enough edge to take the lead.  We fought hard, but couldn\'t peg them back.

For today\'s game we set 1 goal - \"to play with pride and passion, that the whole time can see\".  this goal was achieved.  From the 1st face off everyone gave it their all.  Netherlands opened the scoring while short-handed, but we pegged within the minute.  The 2nd period was played at a fast pace.  The Aussies created a lot of great opportunities, but failed to penetrate the net.  Although Australia outplayed Netherlands in the 2nd period, they scored the only goal.  still full of passion the Aussies dug deep for victory.  Unfortunatly Netherlands stole the kitchen twice in a minute to put us 4-1 down.  For the last 16 minutes Australia dug deep and pressed hard looking for goals.  still we could not penetrate the dutch goals.

Although we lost everyone should be proud of taking the next step and showing the pride and passion to represent Australia.

Tomorrow, bright an early we face Austria.  A win could keep us out of the relegation play-off!  Go Aussie!!!

Hey Dooga, was great to read your post and know that you guys are keeping your spirits up. The end score line leaves so much unsaid about the game itself.

We are proud of all of you. Keep playing with that pride & passion and know we are all behind you!  Smiley

(Alternatively you could do what Juerg advised the girls last year and \"Fart for your country\" - we think it was just his accent and he really meant \'fight\' but no-one is quite sure. hehehe)
